VisionWeb Appoints New Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Austin, Texas - January 19, 2004 - VisionWeb, LP, the online service to help eyecare providers streamline and simplify their practices, announced today that it has appointed Ron Barnes as the new vice president of sales and marketing.
"I welcome Ron Barnes to the VisionWeb team," said Jeffrey Saddington, VisionWeb president and CEO. "I am confident that Ron's unique mix of industry experience and insight, as well as his demonstrated creativity in this marketplace, will complement VisionWeb's current management team and help ensure VisionWeb's future success."
Barnes comes to VisionWeb following 10 years at Essilor of America, the nation's leading manufacturer and distributor of spectacle lenses, where he held multiple management positions with increasing areas of responsibility. Most recently Barnes served as director of marketing for Essilor Laboratories of America, where he managed the marketing functions of the Essilor Laboratory network representing 75 laboratories and $450 million in annual sales.

Barnes will assume the responsibility for all of VisionWeb's sales and marketing activity, including overseeing marketing and sales strategy and efforts for both VisionWeb Essential, a service where eyecare providers can place orders for spectacle lenses, contact lenses, and frames, and VisionWeb Enhanced, the new multi-payer insurance transaction processing service. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from Ball State University. Barnes will be relocating to Austin this spring from the Dallas metropolitan area and is married with 2 children.
