VisionWeb Launches 2006 “Lab of the Year” Program to Recognize Labs that Support and Promote VisionWeb

Austin, TX – April 1, 2006 – VisionWeb, a leading provider of technology services to the optical industry, announced today that it has redesigned its “Lab of the Year” program to include new measurement criteria for determining annual honorees.

The VisionWeb “Lab of the Year” program, introduced in 2005, is designed to encourage and reward labs that have shown exemplary results growing and maintaining customer loyalty using VisionWeb. The measurement criteria used last year measured each Lab’s ability to migrate their customers’ orders to VisionWeb from the phone, fax, or other methods, and to retain and grow their customers’ VisionWeb usage.

The new criteria will include these criteria, and a measurement of the Lab’s ability to support VisionWeb usage through marketing efforts and sales promotions, and a measurement of a percentage vote from VisionWeb members. The VisionWeb member voting process will take place from June through August on the VisionWeb site and will be open to all VisionWeb members. Efforts will also be made to ensure a level playing field for labs of all sizes, with calculations taking in to account overall lab volume versus lab size.

“With the new program, VisionWeb will be able to identify the most forward-thinking Optical Laboratories in the industry as part of our growing network, including those Labs that offer the best service and support to our members,” said Ron Barnes, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for VisionWeb. “The honorees will represent the Optical Laboratories that have embraced VisionWeb as a tool to improve service and increase lab efficiency.”

VisionWeb “Lab of the Year” winners will be featured in a special section of the VisionWeb site, and will receive an honorary plaque commemorating their recognition. The honorees will be announced annually at the Optical Laboratories Association Meeting.

Last year’s honorees were Nova Optical, Orangeburg, NY; Cherry Optical, Melvindale, MI; and Twin City Optical, Minneapolis, MN.
